	Laura's House was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit safe-house in 1998 in response to the deaths of Laura Magee Whitson and her three young daughters. Murdered in tiny, rural Scotts Mills, Oregon, in 1995, their short lives are now a statistic of domestic violence. Laura's House offers a temporary sheltered environment to give women and their children a time of healing and an opportunity to refocus their lives. Counseling, guidance and emotional support are an integral part of a stay at Laura's House, with a clear mission of protecting and nurturing the physical and spiritual needs of victims of domestic violence.
